Flowerpot card

Whilst blog hopping, I saw a gorgeous flowerpot card HERE and was inspired to make my own. The instructions on how to make one are by Stephanie Luman on splitcoaststampers and you can check them out HERE.

So here's my card
opp

I used brown card, basic grey paper, ribbon from my stash and the fiskars threading water punch.

More owls!

Well, today I had a go at the sweet sunday sketch, which you can check out HERE.
I still had the We R Memory Keepers papers on my table so I used those and combined them with a funky sizzix scallop and this cute owl from kelly panacci. I love this set!
I coloured the owl with copics and because he didn't look quite right, i ended up stamping him again and mounting him on foam dots to give him a bit of height, which you can see here.
I used snap stamps (which are sadly now retired) to created the wavy happy birthday.
Hope you're having a good day.

13th birthday card

Well, my niece's 13th birthday is fast approaching, so I decided to start work on her card early for a change! I based my card on the sketch at Sweet Sunday sketches which you can check out HERE.
Here's a little bit of detail to show how shiny the cupcake frosting looks with its coating of glossy accents. Almost good enough to eat!

As I didn't have cardstock that exactly matched the colours of the paper, I made my own using copic pens.

Card recipe
Papers: doubletake
Paper fills: doodlebug (coloured with copics)
Stamps: denami design and doodlebug
Colouring: copics
Die cut numbers: cuttlebug
Rub ons: mini marks
Other: glossy accents

I'm back

I can't quite believe I'm back - I blew up the graphics card in my pc a month ago and its taken ages to persuade my hubby to fix it!! But here I am, and today I played with the Stamps and Smiles sketch which you can check out HERE and incorporated the charm from the Stamp Something challenge which you can check out HERE (and there's a chance to win a gift certificate for Quixotic Paperie too).
So, here's the result:

And here's a bit of the detail, which includes a cute little charm:

Card recipe:
Stampin up paper
Stampin up scallop punch
stampin up tab punch
Sizzix flourish die
Stampin up circle punch
Hope you have a great week.

Thanks so much

In the last few weeks, we had to make the difficult decision to put my eldest cat to sleep: after a week long stay at the vetinary hospital in Wanstead, they discovered a very large tumour in his abdomen. At 17 1/2 and with heart disease, he was a very poor candidate for surgery and we were strongly advised against it. The vets and staff at Wanstead were amazing, so this card is on their way to them to say thank you for their support & kindness at a really difficult time.

And here is the card recipe:
I used an acetate card base and stamped a Magenta scroll stamp over it using white stazon ink. I embossed the central panel with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder & I used my threading water punch to create the bottom panel. The felt flowers are by stampin up as is the sentiment stamp.

New house card

It's not a typical new house card, but I love this sentiment (by stampin up) which reads: "Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do is in harmony - Ghandi". I also played around with my new impressability - I have to say, I'm not loving them, but I'll practice a bit more before i make a final judgment.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

So glad we're friends

I love this retired tree set from stampin up - its really cute and has loads of versatility for any kind of card. This time I combined it with a hostess set stamp which says, so glad we're friends - I love this sentiment.

I used Penny Lane papers along with some paper piercing, a few punches (stampin up - flowers, fiskars, threading water) to complete the look.
I am so looking forward to the weekend.
Take care

So cute

I'm a bad friend! One of my friends had her baby almost a month ago and its taken me ages to come up with a card, but here it is at last! I used the bittersweet basic grey papers, a prima stamp (elephant), the cute wording is by heidi swapp as are the chipboard letters which i inked up with some chocolate chip ink.
I hope it was worth the wait!
Hope you're having a good week.

Well, I liked my uncle's card so much I made a girly version too - not sure if I really want to give it away though!!

Birthday wishes

I really enjoyed putting this card together for my uncle - I was worried it might be a bit girly with all the cupcakes but he loved it!!
I was inspired by Natalie O'Shea's card which you can see HERE.
The stamps are by stampin up and the little cupcake sticker is from Paperchase.
Enjoy!

Di Hickman's sketch

Here's one i made a few weeks ago but just haven't got round to posting. Its based on Di Hickman's sketch which you can see HERE. I ended up colouring in the paper flowers with my copics to get a better colour match - i love copics! The flourishes are die cut felt and the sentiment stamp is by stampin up. Hope you're enjoying all this sunshine - long may it continue.

you are wonderful

I love this bird and branch stamp set by stampin up - I added some technique tuesday words and a few felt flowers (with obligatory bling!) to complete the look. Sorry about the poor photography - I had to take the pictures in the evening and the light was non-existant!!! The joys of late night crafting! Its based on THIS sketch on Beate's blog.
Nearly the weekend - yay!

Get well soon

Here's one I made ages and ages ago - I used pink petticoat papers with autumn leaves scrolls and some alphabet stamps. I love monochromatic cards with just a splash of colour.
Anyway, this one was in a magazine ages and ages ago so I've had to wait until now before I could share.
Enjoy your week!

CPS sketch challenge

Here is my take on the CPS sketch challenge. You can check out the sketch HERE.
I love the bright colours of this SEI paper and the words from the Sweet Little Sentiments stampin up set. I just need to practise my positioning - even with the stampamajig it still went a bit off centre! The bird stamp is by Prima.
Enjoy.

Not quite a cupcake challenge

I love Taylor's cupcake challenges and her sketches - here was my take on this weeks' sketch:

You can see the link to the sketch HERE.

I used the stampin up Cheep Talk set with some funky SEI paper and some punched flowers (stampin up punch). A bit of bling and I was done!

Beate's weekend sketch challenge - hosted by Jenn Balcer

I thought I'd really struggle with this sketch but this Penny Black stamp sprung to mind and this SEI paper was lying on my desk so it just all came together from there. I just love the way the stampin up felt flowers combine with this paper.
Hope you're all enjoying Bank Holiday Monday.
